movie trailer – x games 3D the movie

warning
These webclips feature stunts performed either by professionals or under the supervision of professionals. MTV and the producers must insist that no one attempt any activity performed on the site.

I remember the first time the X Games hit the Providence, Rhode Island, scene in 1995. Only it was known as the Extreme Games then—an eye-rolling buzzword quickly (and smartly) shunted aside for the less shrewd corporate marketeers on Madison Avenue to pick up on and employ in their billion dollar advertising tirades—and pretty goofy in the manner of most network operations looking to showcase what it is mostly unfamiliar with. As such, sky surfing, bungee-kayak jumping, rollerblading, and downhill skate luge kooks abounded. Over time, the heads at ESPN wised up and dropped the fascination with erratic nutcases and cut the faddish chaff from the long-term wheat. Fourteen years later what they’re primarily left with is a lean, mean marquee of skateboarding, BMX, motocross, and snowboarding events. No surprise. But, as the X Games evolved, so did filming technology. And for those who are generally behind the lenses and operating them, it’s equally fun to watch the high-tech cameras zip right alongside the phenonenal feats and falls of the featured riders. Some of those cameras, apparently, were being used to film their latest venture, X Games 3D The Movie. This title naturally begs that a pornographic equivalent to be made, e.g. XXX Games 3D The Movie, in which money shots will surely be given an exponential boost in value. Coming to a theater near you soon? More like coming in a theater near you soon. (more…)
