hoop dreams – eddie barbanell’s basketball shot

Eddie Barbanell finds a different way to amaze every time I am in his presence. This time it came on the set of Rob Dyrdek’s new show called the Fantasy Factory. (more…)

tony hawk’s wildboyz monkey loop slam

All this X Games circus talk about skateboarders like Jake Brown and Danny Way falling from the sky reminds me of a particularly tense moment from the California episode of Wildboyz in 2005 when we shot with Tony Hawk. The bit itself seemed harmless enough, get Tony and Bob Burnquist in monkey suits and have them skate around with Louie the chimp, but when Tony dropped in to do the loop, he lost it at the fateful 12 o’clock position and went bananas through the air until he hit the ramp’s flat bottom below with a sickening smack. I wasn’t there, but those who were thought Tony was dead (similar to how we all thought we’d re-introduced Mat Hoffman to his maker when he went for a feeler air on the vert ramp in his “fat fuck” suit for jackass the movie and hung-up bike-style on the lip). Cheerio and shite!

music video – “smash grind city,” by chris pontius

Following in the thrashin’ tradition of such legendary skate rock acts as The Faction, Drunk Injuns, and the Big Boys, Chris Pontius gets wild in the streets with his latest song, “Smash Grind City.” In true Pontius fashion, “Smash Grind City” was conceived and written over the span of one night and then recorded the very next day at JxPx Blackmon’s Studebaker Studios. jackass skateboard session at dave england’s

It’s safe to say we all have a few random skeletons in our closets here at jackassworld, but if there’s one common bone amongst them all it has to do with skateboarding. Late last year, we all grouped up at Dave England’s house with the intent to film interviews for jackass 2.5. (more…)
