Yesterday it was the fastest towed toilet. Today it’s the fastest towed tricycle, a/k/a “huge tire” (tailored for corporate sensitivity and manufacturer concerns, kind of like ye olde “Slide ‘n’ Slip”). Not to be a downer—buy the DVD! it’s awesome!—but Jesus H. Christ. Is this what it’s come to with the Guinness Book of World Records? I mean, can I get a witness? Maybe that’s why I only remember the freaks ‘n’ geeks section of the book. Those were the only super cool records: longest fingernails, bushiest beard on a lady, smallest midjit, tallest man/woman/child, most tattoos (yeah, that used to be an anomaly before the world went human coloring book crazy) … those were the shit. So maybe when you run out to buy the Nitro Circus Season 1 DVD collection, you can pick up this classic, too: Tod Browning’s Freaks (1932). Highly recommended, ahead of its time, three Hindu thumbs up!
