photo of the day – reveal!

Okay, admittedly that wasn’t the hardest thing to guess—it’s your classic bacon scab—but the story behind it is rather funny to visualize (especially if you happen to be a skateboarder who has done this very same embarrassing thing in public). The severely skinned knee, you see, belongs to Lauren Graham, our resident BMX bike-riding director of the forthcoming Big Brother documentary*. This past weekend, while biking around Downtown LA like a turtle with all her camera gear in tow, Lauren lost control on a slippery patch of sidewalk (a spot of bum feces, most likely) and spontaneously wiped the fuck out. Her camera was fine, but her knee was an altogether different story as her short shorts will attest. Guess they don’t call it “skid row” for nothing! (more…)

chicken shit bingo with dale watson
The final adventure in SXSW actually started at the beginning. On our first night, we were introduced to the velvety smooth vocals (and charm) of county music singer Dale Watson. Now, to be honest, I didn't know about Dale Watson's music until Knoxville gave me his phone number.

photo of the day – the sparkly glove
Being a huge fan of all things that sparkle, Knoxville had his assistant Dennis run all over town today for a sparkly glove to honor Michael Jackson. He also sent us out to cover the event by interviewing the late Mr. Jackson's fans in the streets of downtown Los Angeles.

photos of the day – the wild and wonderful whites premiere
In true Hollywood fashion, the fabled red carpet—or at least a very small remnant of which—was thrown out onto a sidewalk in Westwood, CA, for the west coast premiere of The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia at the Los Angeles Film Festival.

When I told Knoxville I was driving an RV with five of my friends to the SXSW music festival, he suggested that we hang out with some of his friends while we were in Austin to get a real Texas experience. Man, I bet he regrets that now. Just kidding. Well, maybe not. No, but seriously, how cool was that? Not to mention he and Derek hooking us up with gas money to make it there. Thanks, guys. You’re the best. (more…)

the txrd lonestar roller derby girls vs. mark zupan
I\'d never had the opportunity to spend any time in the south until a recent trip I took with a bunch of friends to the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas. We drove an RV from LA to Austin and parked it downtown just blocks away from the madness of the festival. It was off the hook.

photo of the day – the devil cock chair
Last week our accountant brought her five-year old daughter to work. In these instances we generally behave ourselves, monitor our language, cover up Dave Carnie's penis on the Pricasso painting, and refrain from throwing shit at each others balls.

I emailed Lauren Graham and asked her how her trip to South By Southwest in Austin, Texas, was going. She's down there with an RV full of six of her girlfriends shooting stuff for jackassworld.

art review – hannah, by lauren graham
Hannah is pretty much the coolest. She's the perfect mix of artist, heavy metal-er, and gangster rapper. She also taught me about the word "mash."
