24 hour takeover – hour 16 recap
If you’ve managed to make it this deep into the marathon, you’ve probably noticed that we’re getting away with murder on TV like we’ve never done before. Mousetraps licked out of butts, Wee flying-Vs at Terry Richardson’s photo studio, and a pretty risqué making of jackass 2.5. What you might not know is that while this is airing live on MTV it’s also being simultaneously broadcast on the jumbotron in Times Square. Unreal. Closing the hour out, we stumbled into the “midtown” studio to play with our shady propmaster JxPx Blackmon’s “Box of Stuff That Sucks.” No one was all that willing to jump into the predominantly shocking mix here, but Knoxville took the initiative to just start calling out names at random, including that of Jeff Tremaine. To his credit, Jeff manned up for a rat trap to the hand, but then the wheels slowly started to fly off the bit one at a time as Knoxville marked up the wheel with some rather television-unfriendly words (rumor has it we had a few technical difficulty cards fly up here, so enjoy the photo!). The bit finally disintegrated into Wee Man and Mike the Midget swapping cattle prods to the butt with each other.

What better way to deliver the highlights of Hour 10 than with the biggest "lowlight" of Preston Lacy's life? That's right, he lost all pride in a game of chance, but gained a sweet tramp stamp in return.

After much deliberation (and hours upon hours in the editing room), we aired the making of the Steve-O album—or at least what could be shown on TV without a fuck-ton of bleeps turning it into a commercial for Casio keyboards.

Okay, so Knoxville wrapped out the Zach Galifianakis talk show and everyone took a big, deep breath before going into Yo! MTV Raps starring Steve-O.

24 hour takeover video highlights – hours 7 and 8
Before exiting stage left for the night, Dave Carnie introduces Big Regg and Steve-O in the “Sultan of Soda.” Several angry cameramen later, Sean Cliver rolls the show back in from commercial and then goes rolling across a row of water jugs on a skateboard deck. After seeing monkey do, Bam Margera, Wee Man, Cairo Foster, and Rick Howard give it a go in similar flailing and bailing fashion.
I’m not sure whether Steve-O’s ever so brief appearance on the Zach Galifianakis show was on the cusp of the hour or not, but it certainly bears mention because it was a genuine in-studio moment for those here in attendance.

Hour 12 was nice because I was able to run outside and get a breath of cool, fresh air as Pontius found a cock and some bananas to talk to on the street.

Okay, so in hour 11 I know I was overjoyed to look out the windows facing Times Square and see the word “fart” blazing across the way in lowercase bold Helvetica type on the jumbotron.
