photo of the day

So at breakfast this weekend, me, my girlfriend Naomi, and my daughter Madison sat and colored while we waited for our food at a restaurant in Los Feliz. One of the coloring options on our kiddie place mats was a scene depicting a dickhead egg kicking another egg off a brick wall a la Humpty Dumpty. Madison was quick to point out that Jeff Tremaine not only would do something like that but he is kinda shaped like that now, too. So without saying anything to each other, we all went to coloring the aforementioned rendering in Jeff’s likeness. Well, I didn’t get mine colored exactly, but at least I was to the point. Naomi (middle) and Madison (bottom) both did a much better job.

Sincerely,

art review – got to be there: an interpretation of michael jackson
One of the many colorful people that stop by the jackassworld offices is Scott Manning, a good friend of the cast and crew for years now. For the past few months he's been planning an art show inspired by Michael Jackson.

norman reedus – an art profile by lauren graham

warning
These webclips feature stunts performed either by professionals or under the supervision of professionals. MTV and the producers must insist that no one attempt any activity performed on the site.

I randomly met Norman Reedus this April at an art show in Canada. I was shooting the event and had a production office in the basement of the show. Amongst the chaos, my friend came in with Norman saying something like, “This guy needs help and he’s obviously cool, so we should help him.” Sure. I asked him where his photography in the art show was from. He said a John Carpenter film called Cigarette Burns that he’d worked on, and I’m pretty sure I punched him. Sorry, Norman, but Halloween is my favorite movie of all time. So to me, working with Carpenter is pretty fucking rock and roll. Not to mention Norman was in The Boondock Saints, also a top caliber piece of film-making. Watch that shit if you haven’t. No, I mean it. So good. Besides killing the mafia on film and doing great John Carpenter Impressions, Norman spends his time running around the world making art. Check it out. (more…)

My dad is really cool and smart. He helps me with big decisions like what to do when the oil light comes on in my car or what the best beer is to buy for a party.

Hannah is pretty much the coolest. She's the perfect mix of artist, heavy metal-er, and gangster rapper. She also taught me about the word "mash."
