Up until now I don’t think I’d ever really gone on any of the shoots for Johnny Knoxville’s One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer programs. It’s not that I was disinterested, it’s always a hoot watching Knoxville get sloppy drunk, but I’d always have something else to do. When I first heard that Mike Judge was going to be his next guest, though, I made damn sure my schedule was clear and sent Knoxville a short, sweet, and shamelessly pleading email to let me tag along on the day of the interview. Not only is it a rare opportunity to personally hear the back story to Mike Judge’s rise from the depths of obscurity in Texas to fame and acclaim in Hollywood, but it’s just a damn treat to be within proximity of someone with such a keen, razor-sharp wit when it comes to observing the more American facets of the human condition. I only wish he was contagious in that sense. Anyway, the Interweb certainly has leveled the playing field when it comes to getting your work out there or just plain finding a phone number or lead, so you really have to appreciate Mike’s story here as he and Johnny plow through a few more bottles in Part 2.
