photos of the day – the wild and wonderful whites premiere

In true Hollywood fashion, the fabled red carpet—or at least a very small remnant of which—was thrown out onto a sidewalk in Westwood, CA, for the west coast premiere of The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia at the Los Angeles Film Festival. Westwood, in case you don’t know, is a district of Los Angeles where all the UCLA-types are quarantined (and with good reason, as evidenced by the contents of a local pub we descended upon later that night), but that had no adverse effect upon the good ole time being had over at the Majestic Crest theater. A full video expose is coming just around yon bend, but for now here is an “as the crow flies” look at who was who in photos from the night to whet and familiarize your whistle. (more…)

a jackassworld tribute to billy mays

I’m no new age nut but there certainly appears to be something going on in the cosmic cards right now that does not bode well for celebrities. First it was Ed McMahon on June 23rd. Then came Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson on June 25th. And now we’ve lost Billy Mays and Fred Travalena on June 28th. It’s almost as if the Grim Reaper has finally succumbed to the celebrity fascination that has long since swept the nation, and stalker rags such as US Weekly and People just aren’t cutting it for him on the toilet anymore. Not to discount Mr. Travalena’s contributions to entertainment history, but Billy Mays did inspire a few pieces here on jackassworld. As such, here’s our final farewell to TV’s legendary advertising pitchman. (more…)

Not to sound like Grandpa Simpson here, but time was back in the ’80s and early ’90s that you had to seriously work for your cult video clips, docs, and flicks. Those of the Interweb/IGS generation will no doubt fail to grasp how difficult this once was, what with the now omnipresent and ridiculous ease of a simple Google search, but for a kid in the hinterlands of the Midwest then you certainly had to do your due diligence to be an anti-social, non-conformist, art weirdo. It was not just a keystroke and click away. (more…)

Recently, I received an email link and it seems as if some n!ggas out in Europe done linked up with some n!ggas in Nigeria—and formed a firm called “Nigaz”. Well, ain’t this about a beep. First off. I ain’t even know Russia had n!ggas over there. Secondly. Even by some random chance there was a n!gga or two over there, who the fukk takes a n!gga in a Russian Trooper hat seriously, anyways? I mean, personally, I don’t even take a n!gga in a trucker hat seriously. (more…)

photo of the day – wee-man

A couple days back I spotlighted a photo from jackass number two of Bam sitting with a steel trap clamped about his wrist next to professional card-flicker Jim Karol and Chris Pontius. Today, let’s take a static look at what transpired next between an electric stool and the stooge we had sit on it: Wee-Man. But the thing is, we had no idea that Jim was even bringing this stool to New Orleans in the first place; the original “creative” simply called for high-speed card flinging with some hopeful lacerative fallout. Instead … well, words cannot do justice. (more…)

Shit mouth. I had to say it. I couldn’t help myself. I don’t even have Tourette’s, but by god I had to get those two words out of my mind and onto the keyboard before I could go on any further. And now that I have, well, to be quite honest I don’t feel like typing anything else. So if you feel like saying anything, go for it. My wordy day is done for now and I’m off to see The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia tonight! (more…)

I’ve often wondered about advertising on the Interweb. I mean, does it work? The answer I’ve since discovered is, hell yes it works—and especially so on jackassworld, where advertisers see (and apparently hear) results directly. Thanks again to our community members for stepping up, showing some initiative, and putting their best bastard foot forward! (more…)

wee-rock – featuring turbonegro

It’s always nice to have Wee-Man introduce these Wee-Rock features—well, all two of them now—but he’s presently off in Germany making scheisse films. No, no, that’s not true, he’s just doing some promotional work over there for Monster energy drink. Münster would of course be the ideal sounding place for such stuff, but regardless where our kleiner mann may, here is the original “pilot” episode for Wee-Rock, featuring Turbonegro, the best band in the world (and if you dare doubt me on this statement then you clearly do not own Apocalypse Dudes). celebrity edition, julien nitzberg – who the hell are you?

In honor of The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia’s west coast coming out party this Saturday, June 27th, at the Los Angeles Film Festival, we are once again featuring a figurehead in the production of the documentary. The first was Priya Swaminathan, the Director of Development at Dickhouse and TWWWWV* Executive Producer, who spent most of her interview making fun of Jeff Tremaine. The next was Storm Taylor, a metrosexual hillbilly turned documentary maker. This last one is with Julien Nitzberg, the Director of TWWWWV, who not only “discovered” the Whites but also introduced us to Mr. Merlin. Yes, that Mr. Merlin. Anyway, here’s Julien in his own responded words. Ger er done.

Who the hell are you, how old are you, and where are you from?

I’m Julien Fucking Nitzberg. I’m 43. I grew up in the same place as Grandmaster Flash, Jake LaMotta, Stanley Kubrick and the Son of Sam—the beautiful Bronx. (more…)
