This past March, President Barack Obama verbally slipped up on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno by equating his bowling skills to those on par with athletes that participate in the Special Olympics. Obama has since apologized in earnest to Special Olympics chairman Tim Shriver for this quip, but Eddie Barbanell would still like it to be publicly and officially known that he will gladly take on the President in a game of one-on-one basketball. For a man who staunchly and vocally supported Obama in his Presidential campaign against John McCain, I think it’s only fair that this challenge be answered on the hardwood. Bring it on.
By the way, here’s the new “Eddie ‘n’ Me” theme song, as introduced by Roger Alan Wade:
“He’s part vaudeville, part Catskills, part off-Broadway, part Vegas, part Hollywood, part Shakespeare, part jackass, pure show biz … ladies and gentlemen … please slap your asses and welcome a friend of us all—Eddie Barbanell!” —Roger Alan Wade
