batting practice, or: how things break at the office

Some people are blessed with the Midas touch, where anything and everything they touch turns to gold. But us, no, we’re endowed with the Mianus touch, where anything and everything we touch either gets broken or shit on. On this particular afternoon in the office, amid Johnny Knoxville’s target—I mean, batting practice with Wee-Man, many things were broken (more…)

One of the fringe benefits of the jackassworld mailbag program is that our community often sends us toys that are, in turn, used to generate content for the website. Why, I believe it was Amanda who first sent us a canister of Silly String—the very same can that generated the hit jackassworld video “Rick Rage.” Many others soon followed suit and I’m sure at least one of those miscreant cans begat this equally entertaining prank on Dave Carnie. It was Joyjoy, though, who recently sent a handful of “fart bomb” packets, all of which we’ve since put to good use. (more…)

photo of the day – the devil himself

Remember Rick Kosick’s cryptic quote from the other week about being shit on by three dudes at once? I hope so, because for a while now there has been something in the developmental works that will merge the old school jackass vibe with new school computer tech in a way that’s never been seen before. And I’m not talking like a new version of jackass the video game or anything. This is some strictly other level crap. Possibly even the next great technological leap for mankind. In fact, the only foreseeable thing that could surpass it in importance would be mass-transit teleportation pods, but clearly someone has dropped the ball on that project. I mean, come the fuck on already! NASA’s Space Shuttle program is so 1984. And whose scientific dick do I have to suck to get a lightweight silver jumpsuit and consumer-grade jet pack? Shouldn’t these be readily available for purchase in Target stores by now (at least in the superior Greatland outlets)? (more…)

When it comes to skateboard-themed movies the genre’s crown jewel is, without a doubt, Thrashin’ (1986). It was the time, the tricks, the music, the fashion: the four horsemen of ’80s skateboard apocalyptica (not to mention Eddie Reategui’s eyebrow). Everything to come since this epic cult film—Gleaming the Cube (1989), The Grind* (2003), Lords of Dogtown (2005)—pales in comparison. Thrashin’ has withstood decades of contenders, none of which could trump its time-proven/lifted “Romeo & Juliet” plot line (or Eddie Reategui’s eyebrow), so I’m always somewhat skeptical when a new skateboard flick comes along to try and unseat the undisputed titan. With that, enter the next would be Daniel LaRusso (or perhaps I should say the next best random hero Ryan Dunn): Street Dreams, a new feature film due out in theaters June 12th (West Coast) and June 19th (East Coast).

the big ass happy family jubilee – parts 1-3

So me and my cousin Roger Alan Wade got us a radio show on Sirius/XM’s Outlaw channel called The Big Ass Happy Family Jubilee. We play a bunch of our country favorites and talk a whole lot of shit. Usually we have a theme or do a tribute to someone on every show. Some of the themes we have done include: “songs about doin’ it,” “murder ballads,” “great country crooners with large tools,” and “some people we wished were married but weren’t; The Big Ass Happy Family Jubilee salutes George and Cleopatra Jones.” That one was by far our longest theme. Heh heh… (more…)

How awesome would it be to be a monkey? Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the fact that I was born into the human race and all, but for whatever reason monkeys are given pretty wide latitude when it comes to public displays of most every disagreeable activity and/or biological function known to mankind. Okay, yeah, there are exceptions to the rule, like eating the face off that dude and mutilating his genitals at a fellow chimp’s birthday party, that wasn’t cool, but in general it’s anything goes: nose-picking, butt-scratching, shaft-stroking, hair-pulling, poo-flinging, wallet-snatching, etc. And just look at what’s happening to poor Mark Rackley here. While the very idea of a “factory” can sound mechanical and produced to a fault, there is indeed something bordering on magical when it comes to that zone of concrete situated beneath the Fantasy Factory’s illogically high basketball hoop. I mean, talk about fucking hoop dreams with this joint shot by Jeff Tremaine and Street Bike Tommy, and I know it’s only one of many seriously ridiculous baskets to be made here. Was this place built on Wilt Chamberlain’s gravesite or something? (more…)

arachnophobia vs. ergophobia

The other day, courtesy of Street Bike Tommy*, I learned a new word: ergophobia, which can loosely mean the irrational fear of work or the workplace. I don’t believe I have ergophobia per se, but I do have a fear of being contained in a cubicle-oriented environment**. So whenever a Dickhouse production gears up it’s always good to be budgeted in on the travel end of matters. Wildboyz was the prime candidate for this, what with all its globe-trotting adventures, but the series also coincided with the first couple years of my son’s life on Earth and that was something I wasn’t going to miss out on. For stalwarts of the live webcam feed, you may have noticed that it was a bit more quiet than usual around the office last week. That’s mostly because Rick Kosick, Mike G., and I were off inhaling the secondhand dust clouds of the Nitro Circus production. They’d just fired up the production engines on filming for their second season, starting in and around Los Angeles, so we gladly jumped at the opportunity to go out on location with them and scavenge around for bits of Interweb material. Of course we’re not at liberty to discuss or disclose anything they’ve been up to, but for now just know that the executive producer team is doing everything it can to ensure an exciting second season.
