I used to go to this BMX track when I was a tyke. It was crazy, seemed to large-scale for standard bikes, but these older kids would take it on.
“How light is your bike,” I asked one of them?
“Fifty-pounds.”
I was flabbergasted, and told my cohorts. As far as we all knew, it was the lighter bikes that lent more to stunts and tricks. I never forgot that day and comment and write about it today so the world will know.
In today’s age I live in California—I have left behind the fruitcakes of Middle America and seek lightweight women and beyond. As I slowly matured into a young man, I developed a fascination with lightweight sneakers: these were needed, so I was led to believe, for obtaining high aerials and pulling off judo airs (a trick entailing a kicking out of the front foot while flying through the air).
Now I am a full-grown adult man. I don’t fly around anymore. I have heard many things about the program Nitro Circus, but not until recently: nobody told me anything about it. I realize that the entertainment business likes types that keep their projects hush hush, but I do need to know about things to properly review them.
I am proud of Jeff Tremaine, in the way he has managed to come up none-short of producer greatness, and listen in on all the great things personnel say about the show he created. I have not seen the show, as I don’t watch TV anymore, but I know that it is about motocross bikes and the stunts that make it worthwhile, which I’m sure it is, but once again, like I said, I have fallen from pop culture and just stick to jackass and its corner of the world.
Lightweight bikes are the way to go. Thinking hard about the foolish deniers, which claimed heavy shoes and bikes are the mainstay, will never be set free enough to write as great of a review as this. As I sit amongst all the gay faces I work with, I realize one thing: that if a review is from the heart, nobody can tell the difference, and if you will excuse me, I’m going to go hit up the track and take those big turns like a grown leader. —Earl Parker
For those of you that do have a keen eye for pop culture and images that appear on the TV, check out an all-new episode of Nitro Circus this Sunday, April 12th, when the crew continues their stunty fun abroad in Puerto Rico, America’s unofficial 51st state.
