the jackassworld news for friday, october 31st

And so, as the harvest season draws to a close, so does another half-ass work week here at jackassworld. Before getting into any questionably newsworthy details, though, I’d first like to apologize for the live show miscarriage this past Wednesday. Despite our best intentions the Halloween-themed edition of the jackassworld live show never panned out due to technical complications with our Ustream connection. We might have made up for this live shortcoming on Thursday or Friday, but we had other more important matters at hand to deal with, first and foremost filming with Eddie Barbanell. (more…)

When it came down to deciding upon a Halloween-themed post from the jackass and Wildboyz archive for today there were several clips that came to mind, a few of which have since dribbled out onto the site the past few days, like the “Human Piñata,” “The Bat,” and even last week’s “Night Monkey.” One, however, stood head, shoulders, and horns above them all: “Tasmanian Devil Worship,” starring Chris Pontius and Steve-O in what may be one of the undisputed Top 5 Wildboyz segments of all-fucking-time. epicly later’d – ethan fowler

I’ve been friends with Ethan Fowler pretty much since he moved to California back in the early ’90s. We even lived together in the Mission for a minute. So it was with great honor that I accepted Patrick O’Dell’s invite to sit down for an interview for an Epicly Later’d piece on Ethan. Ethan is one of the best skaters of all time and I dare you to show me someone with a more natural style. Check out the six-part, Ethan Fowler Epicly Later’d piece at VBS.TV.

Never mind the candy apples and razor blades—here’s the Kosick-o’-lantern! Happy All Hallows Eve from jackassworld, you little pagan bastards, and don’t forget to thank Glenn Danzig, John Carpenter, Tori Spelling, and Tim Burton in your prayers tonight.

I’m not so sure this qualifies as a Halloween-like segment, but Johnny Knoxville does appear to look like the Great Pumpkin in this masochistic skit so take it for all its seasonal worth. (more…)

dress up jesus

http://www.jesusdressup.com/
Halloween is on its way. I know what I’m getting dressed up as, but unfortunately my friend, and your lord and Savior, Jesus Christ still hasn’t picked a costume. Jesus Christ, Jesus! Hurry up and pick something! Maybe you could help him out?

photo of the day – chris pontius

By special request from one Tam O’Clannie, who sounds like a Irish leprechaun but is really a Canadian lumberjack, here is the photo that Dimitry Elyashkevich took of Chris Pontius at the Los Osos skatepark. I believe the name of the trick he is doing is the Bo Diddley, but for some odd reason I keep wanting to call it a Good Buddy (even though I know that’s a fakie invert of sorts, whereas this is more of a layback-to-tail deal). The first time I remember seeing Chris pull a Bo Diddley was at some random park in Fort Collins, Colorado, during our Big Brother Rocky Mountain tour in 1996 with the self-wetting Clyde Singleton (who, come to think of it, just may now be a candidate for tomorrow’s photo). That was also quite possibly the last thing Chris did on that tour because he soon fell victim to altitude sickness and took up fetal position in the back of the van for the duration of the trip.

Part 4 of the jackassworld road trip, in which our cement-craving travelers—Wee Man, Chris Pontius, Danger Ehren, Preston Lacy, Dave England, Mike Kassak, Loomis Fall, JxPx Blackmon, Scott Manning, Dimitry Elyashkevich, Mike G., Rick Kosick, and Sean Cliver—make a stop at the Los Osos public skatepark and cram a session in just prior to sundown. Ah, Orlando… If we ever did go ahead and start production on the fabled jackass 3, which we haven’t, for all you unbelievers out there, I doubt we’d be able to pass up one more trip to this city. Or, more importantly, the hotel of horrors that gave us carte blanche to do most anything and everything within the confines of its property, including nakedness in the lobby, more nakedness in the elevators, and even more nakedness in the conference rooms. photo of the day – ryan dunn

Occasionally people will ask me what exactly I did while working on jackass number two. With great pride I tell them that I was the one who designed the cock ‘n’ balls shape that Ryan Dunn branded onto Bam’s butt. Well, that and I also contributed a thatch of shaved pubic hair to Danger Ehren’s face that just so happened to include the one white hair in the bunch. I was actually rather surprised by this fact, because given the inordinate amount of salt amongst the pepper on Lance Bangs’ head, I thought for sure he’d have Old Man Winter growing in his pants.
