the jackassworld road trip, day 1 – steve-o

So once Dave England finally managed to join us and chug his jug of pee it was off to Pasadena to visit Steve-O. I mean, what better way to start off the trip, right? Luckily traffic was light and we made it over to his side of the basin just as he was hopping out of the shower. From there it was off to a skate park located in South Pasadena…only it was closed. Mike Kassak then suggested another skate park just over in Highland Park…only it was closed, too. However, a denizen of the broader park area was kind enough to point us in the direction of a vagina-like hole in the fence, so we barged a frying pan session at high noon. All in all this was a nice warm up to the parks we’re about to hit on this trip with Ehren Mcghehey taking best slam honors, Chris Pontius placing best in ’70s show, and Dave just sweating out his morning intake of urine.

For lunch we headed over to this local burger and whatever joint, where Steve-O and JxPx Blackmon started to write the lyrics to a heavy metal song about vampires (a song soon to be titled “Time To Die”). By the time we arrived back at Steve-O’s place to drop him off, the lyrics had been finalized and an acoustic porch jam ensued. This did set us back two more hours from what we had scheduled, but I’ll be damned if it wasn’t fucking worth it. The whole point of this trip in the first place was just to get everyone together again and have some fun, so I’d say we’ve been successful in that aspect…so far.
