jackass not on dvd – urban sledding

Every so often we’ll take a trip to the toy store and see what goodies can be repurposed for juvenile fun. On one such occasion in 2000 we traipsed upon these multi-wheeled “summer sleds” and took them straight to the hills of Echo Park for some dumber sledding. Our technical skill set was still rather seat of the pants at the time this was filmed, and if you look closely on the second attempt at flirting with gravity here you will see what appears to be a small black box bouncing behind Johnny Knoxville. That is, in fact, a wireless lavalier, and it significantly upped the cost of what was supposed to be a very low budget bit (it wasn’t until 2002 that we met professional lavalier handler Cordell Mansfield). But just look at Rick Kosick do the Boogie Woogie Roll!
