I have some sad news for everyone here at jackassworld. Our very good friend Dottie Barnett, who played my wife Mrs. Irving Zisman on the TV show and in the first movie, has passed away. You may remember Jeff and I went to visit Dottie in a hospice on Mother’s Day. Her son Alex called to say his mother didn’t have long, so we went by to see her and hug her neck. And although she was in rough physical condition, she was still mentally sharp, really sharp. As I said in my previous writings about the visit, she remembered every detail of the time she spent shooting with us on jackass. Well, her son said last Tuesday (I didn’t receive news of Dottie’s passing until last Friday evening) her whole family was gathered around her bedside. As they were recounting her days of shooting with me and the boys, Dottie passed on from this world. Her death saddened us all, but that that was her last conversation shook us to our foundation. It was very touching to say the least to know that we meant that much to her life, that she was talking about us in the end. Dottie, I want you to know, you meant that much to our lives, too. Dottie Barnett will be sorely missed, but she is fondly celebrated in our memories.
Love, love, love,
Johnny, Jeff, and the boys
