Shortly after I wrote that shoulder thing in which I mentioned Neil Blender, I stumbled upon my friend Todd Bratrud’s blog at theskateboardmag.com. He posted three Blender videos from the late ’80s/early ’90s there. I had totally forgotten about these and hadn’t seen them in years. I had also forgotten that some of the things I still say on a regular basis came from Neil Blender. Like, “TRIP OOOOOUT!” I thought I made that up. And then the bobcat thing—I remember where that came from—but to this day, whenever I see one of those little Bobcat tractor things, I say, “Stay away from my bobcat, man!”

I don’t like being one of those old dudes that gets all wispy about the good ole days, but this is one instance where I’ll agree with all the old, fat fucks from my generation: they don’t make videos like these anymore. And there’s nobody like Neil Blender.
