Here’s an old sentimental favorite. As many know, Chris Pontius has many, many different personalities, however, there is one a little more uncontrollable than the rest and that would be “Bad Mongo.” Much like Dave England’s “Darf,” Bad Mongo generally happens in the more “camera-off” moments of his life (or on long haul airline trips), but every so often he rears his ugly yet still hilarious head during working hours. Such was the case in Paris, when he was painted up as classical fine art sculpture and let loose in the cultured streets to amuse, annoy, and make children cry. Yes, very rarely will you hear Dimitry Elyashkevich pipe up from behind the camera to reel in any mayhem, but listen closely for his earnest “direction” as Bad Mongo chases down a pack of children and separates the weakest from the herd in true hyena fashion. There were numerous alternate titles for this segment in the office, the two most popular being the “Green Nuisance” and “Green Menace,” but it was ultimately decided to keep it cultural and not confuse Chris’s performance as Dr. Bruce Banner gone off on a European bender.
